WA: Lightning kills two men and injures three people

Weekend lightning strikes in separate, remote parts of Western Australia have killed
two men and left three bystanders including a young girl in shock.

A 39-year-old mine worker died instantly yesterday when he was hit by lightning while
inspecting a tailings dam at WMC's nickel mine at Leinster, 365km north of Kalgoorlie.

Police say a colleague who had been walking just three metres in front of the man felt
the heat and shock from the strike but was not injured.
